The building that the Portage and District Arts Centre sits, was once Portage la Prairie’s “…most modern building”, housing the epic Delta Lanes 10-Pin Bowling Alley. Here’s a look from the Yosh Tashiro photo archive. Construction … featuring the world famous Spare-More Spare-Selector Looking North over Delta Lanes during construction. Look to the top right, there’s that building with Cafe on Prince long before the facelift. Apparently it was a cafe then too. Benny’s Lunch Bar. Conveniently located across from MacLeod’s. The Pinsetters Pinsetters moving in… Pinsetters arrive… Pinsetters installed… The Amenities …for all your bowling needs… A full service lunch counter. … with the wait staff hiding… 😉 With tables by Fleetwood. I remember this turning into a video arcade area when the Bus Depot operated out of there. All right, Lets go bowling! As with all Yosh photos, if you see an inaccuracy or can add insight to these pictures, please leave a comment and help us rebuild the lost history of Portage la Prairie.
